Colin is 2!

What a wonderful day we had with our boisterous two year old! Colin enjoyed his 2nd birthday by spending time with his grandparents, going to a new park, and enjoying a favorite meal of pizza and ice cream. He chose a theme of fire engines and had a wonderful time blowing out the candle on his fire truck ice cream cake!

Of course, Colin's usually the one doing the singing these days:

Colin got a lot of amazing gifts today. He loves them all. Well, maybe his dinosaur makes him a little nervous:

Colin has had a great month. His speech improved dramatically - five and six word sentences are the norm now. We've noticed he's trying to use the past tense more now - sometimes incorrectly, but it's clear he understands that verbs change depending on circumstances. Any time he falls lately, he says "I felled!" His letter recognition is improving a lot, and he can practically recite one of his favorite books, "Go Do Go."

We started this month off with Halloween. An initially reluctant giraffe, Colin warmed up to trick-or treating quite well. Anna, of course, was ready to go from the start. Here she is at her school celebration:

In other news, Colin's figured out how to ride a tricycle:

And, of course, sports are still a big interest of his:

Both Anna and Colin love being adventurous on the playground:

Brian and I are enjoying our son so much. Watching him develop into a little boy has been an amazing experience!
