On the developmental front, both kids are doing really well. Colin has started to use more and more new words ("highway", "fast", "keys"....we're sensing a theme), can name most of his colors, and is also putting multiple words together in sentences. A recent highlight, after he threw Brian's hat on the ground was "uh oh, daddy hat". He has a mischievous streak!
His canines came in over the last month, which was painful but thankfully over. He is climbing EVERYTHING, and trying to jump off each surface for good measure. His latest summit is the changing table, which now has to go for reasons of safety. Check out some of his antics:
Anna is getting ready to leave daycare / preschool at Madera Grove. She'll attend part time in July to help her get ready for Sacred Heart in late August. Lots of her classmates have transitioned to other classes, too, so there have been lots of goodbyes and some tears. But there have also been new faces in her class as well. Transitions at home too: lots of our neighbors have said goodbye after graduation, including one of Anna's closest friends, Kyla. But Anna's coping, and there are new neighbors moving in every day. She continues to flourish as a young reader, attacking longer and longer library books. We're having to go once a week to keep her sated! She is a wonderful big sister and constantly engaging and helping her brother.
We've enrolled the kids in soccer classes which they are enjoying immensely, although Colin is a little picky about which drills he engages in. With our extra time we've been able to do a lot more activities, including the San Francisco Zoo which was a real treat. We've been setting up the slip and slide to help the kids deal with the hot afternoons, and our latest adventure was a trip to the local pool today. We have two kids who love the water and have no fear!
