Colin's big milestone this month is having his crib converted into a toddler bed. I wish I could say that this decision was made in light of Colin's developmental readiness for such a step. In fact, it was due to the fact that he kept climbing out of his crib and sneaking into our room, scaring us half to death! We figured that since he needed training to stay in bed, we might as well bite the bullet and train him into the toddler bed. He is very proud of his big boy bed, and no one is allowed to sit on it except him. The move seems to have improved his sleeping habits so it looks like the right decision.
Colin is enjoying his last few weeks as a Puffin (the toddler room at daycare). Soon he will transition into the Bluebird room as a two-year old - amazing! As the oldest child in his room, he is modeling very good behavior. His teachers have sent home a variety of reports regarding his gentlemanly behavior, ranging from pulling out chairs for others, obtaining tissues for runny noses, and patting the backs of friends who are crying! We are thrilled to hear it. At home, Colin is the definition of rambunctious boy - jumping, pounding, throwing constantly. We're glad he is showing off his good manners when away from home!
Colin continues to be very active. He loves football almost as much as baseball these days, and is constantly upping the risks he'll take on the playground, much to his mother's dismay. Here's some video capturing his scooter skills:
