Colin continues to make progress in his speech, regularly expressing two word ideas. He's taking more chances with more sophisticated words. He used to term all meals "snack" but lately has been asking for "breakfast" and "dinner" specifically. He can now sing the entire alphabet song, although he tends to rush through "JKLMNO." He can count to 10 with just a few prompts/reminders. We've started working on letter recognition, and he's consistently able to identify uppercase A,B,O,S, T, and X... the others are a work in progress. He's begun singing and humming to himself which is just adorable.
Anna is doing such a great job as a big sister. Colin wakes up very early and sings to himself while Mom and Dad groggily try to remember whose turn it is to be on duty. But Anna often wakes up and comes to our bed to ask if she can go play with Colin in his room. She's all the entertainment he needs! They play really well together and we can get some extra z's! Here she is helping Colin on the big boy swing:
Colin is quite the adventurer on the playground and is doing many things Anna did not master until well into 2 years old, including the big boy swing and a variety of climbing structures. He's become much faster up and down the steps at home which prevents some of the heavy lifting we have to do. He's doing really well in his soccer class (as is Anna) and has pretty decent kicking aim!
We are just a few hours from leaving for the airport for our flight to Philadelphia. We'll get to hang out with cousin Nicholas there, and then we'll drive down to Maryland to see cousin Logan and newborn cousin Nathan!! We are so excited to see our loved ones.
